Customer Comments

With regard to the rev limit problem I pulled the DME out last night and
found that it did have a Superchip in there. Unlike the Promax the Superchip
is an EPROM mounted on a daughter board that plugs into the main socket of
the PCB. Does anyone know why they have the daughter board? I assume it is
to prevent easy copying of their EPROM's??

Anyway, I pulled the lot out, put the Promax in it's place and went out for
a drive. Im very peased to report that my rev limit problem is now
completely fixed with the 7100rpm Promax in place
There must have been a fault with one of the Superchips components which
caused the DME to lower the rev limit (and retard the timing) - as it's
supposed to. Because the Superchips was never running correctly I have no
benchmark for the car but all I can say is it's a joy to drive now. Throttle
response is very good, torque from as low as 2000rpm is good and the power
now feels like it should've done when I first got it.
Thanks to Stuart for prompt delivery of the chip
