Orange Racing 968

The car was a bottom up build for the 2007 Britcar 24hr race and can be seen a couple of times in the Top Gear feature on that event. Kevin Eacock at EMC Motorsport in Birmingham built the car and the basic spec allows it to run in the PCGB Club Class racing series.

I bought the car in May 2008 and have been able to compete in 4 rounds of the PCGB racing series in 2008, in what is my rookie half season. It has been a huge learning curve for me, the car however is really very accomplished and I am gradually getting up to race speed as I seek to shake off my 'trackday comfort zone'. For 2009 I plan to complete a full season of PCGB Club racing and hopefully begin to challenge the other 968's and 911's in that class. The racing is really competitive, so the learning curve remains steep.

Details as bought:
GAZ double adjustable remote cell shocks, blue printed engine (248 bhp), solid flywheel, KAZ 3 way lsd, dipped/seam welded body, Safety Devices cage with extra elements, de-cat, MO30 calipers & ARB's, handbrake delete, fibreglass bonnet, Lambo metallic orange.

Work since I bought the car:
I have enjoyed fine tuning the car during the season to include: swapped in my KLA strut brace from the road car, all 4 calipers overhauled, DIY brake cooling to all 4 corners, rear shocker overhaul, added revised type castor blocks, geometry changes to add -ve camber to the front and balance the car, plus a complete check/overhaul of the fuelling system ie from tank through to injectors.
